It breaks my heart when I hear a child say “I can’t”, particularly when it comes to attempting to do art. On the other hand it challenges to me to challenge them and always assure them that “Yes They Can.” Not only is it crucial to encourage a child due to enhancing their self-esteem but it is crucial for the development of their willingness to try.
And please ever fall into the “trap” of doing for your child simply because they say they can’t do something. Sometimes parents find that it is easier to go ahead and accomplish the task their child because it’s a lot faster to do it themselves. However if you do this, sometimes even by habit, you will be doing more harm than good for your child. By allowing your child to try you will allow your child to grow.
