These coasters are made with a piece of tile, decoupage, and your favorite photos.
Step 1: Select the size and shape of tile you want to use.
Step 2: Select the photos and optional scrap booking paper for a detailed contrast background.
Step 3: Edit your photo so it is bright because when you add the finishing decoupage it will get darker. Then print on just regular printing paper – photo paper will be too hard.
Step 4: Glue your chosen photo/scrapbooking paper with the decoupage to the piece of tile – wrapping the paper around the tile and making sure it laps over on the back of the tile.
Step 5: Now you are ready to put a protective coating – use any type of varnish for this step. I used Minwax Clear Satin Varnish.
Step 6: After tiles are dry, cut out and glue using decoupage a piece of either felt (which is cheaper) or cork board to the back of the tiles so they will not scratch your coffee table.
